Glenshee 2014

Snow at higher levels has brought down the ptarmigan and snow buntings looking for food in the early part of the year. The ptarmigan came down to around 150 feet above the road. A flock of 15-20 birds contoured around the hill on several days and made photography an easier task than usual. Climbing the hill to photograph at the same level produced better images. The snow buntings gathered at the car park and sort food in their active way. gathering images required trying to capture them in their limited stationary moments
